Matt moved from the South Bay area down to the central coast in 1997, with the initial intention of finishing his college studies in Fire, Rescue, and EMS. After working in the medical field for a few years, he started with Murphy Home Loans in December of 2000. They were a wholesale mortgage brokerage, that worked as in-house lending at Coldwell Banker Premier Real Estate.
His 20 years of lending experience working within a busy real estate office gave him a wealth of knowledge regarding the real estate industry. He is now very understanding of the seller's side, and the agent's needs, which pairs well to his lending skills of working with various buyers and explaining the loan process. Uniquely, he has helped many parent-to-child home transactions without the use of an agent, and can help clients navigate through such a process.
When he's not working, he enjoys cooking and barbecuing, working on his car projects, and spending time with his beautiful wife of 17 years and their two daughters (10 and 14). He looks forward to bringing his experience to The Mortgage House, where he'll have more control of the various processes involved to better serve his clients.
